How do I start my usb flash drive after I put it into my computer?
I just bought a Sandisk Curzer Micro Usb flash drive so I can put all of my school work onto it and I put it into my computer but can't seem to get it working. I put it in the right usb spot but nothing is happening...what do i do?

- go to my computer, and see if the drive is recognized
- If it is Win XP, the drivers will automatically load and you should see it on My Computer > something called Removable Disk win 98 you have to install the drivers. Good luck
- I know how to do it and understand the question but it's kinda to hard to answer. I am very Sorry.
- if it you still cant find it in my computer than return it. it might be broken
- If you are using "Win XP" it should show up automatically, if on Win98 you need the drivers from manufacturers.
- It uses the electricity from plugging it in therefore there is nothing for you to do. If you would like to see what is in the drive open "My computer" on the your desktop and you'll see another drive letter besides "C" drive. This will be your flash drive. You can drag and drop files into this drive as you wish.
- try putting it in some other ports at the back maybe! also have you got other usb devices as usb might be disabled!(this is a long shot) use the flash drive in a known good working usb port when you plug it in, a drive appears in my computer! have you checked their mate! cheers
- You have several options, but first, you need to know if your computer "knows" it's there. A couple of things you can check for: is there an installation CD? that's the driver for it (what your computer needs to know to make it work). Is the USB compatible with your computer? If you have a MAC and bought something compatible with Windows, you may have a problem. If you've already checked all of this, try that: Go in the start menu, then click on "my computer" Your USB extension will show up as "devices with removable storage" - click on the one that doesn't show a CD. In fact, double click on it. If it's not that, your computer hasn't recognized it. Otherwise, it should try to install the driver.
- Your PC should recognise the Flash disk automatically. If not, try another USB port. Failing that, the drive has had it. Do you not see it in "My Computer" when inserted? Which version of Windows are you running? XP should 'see' it, no probs! Vista? Hmmm, maybe!
- If you are running XP then it should install automatically, if your OS is older you will need to download a driver from the manufacturers website
- Go to my computer first before putting it and see what drivers you have got. Then put it and see if there is an addtional driver: If your USB flash has not been recognized then you may find that your computer is old and doesn't recognise the new USB flash you have bought. Go to google and search for the drivers for Sandisk Curzer Micro USb flash, just type Sandisk Curzer Micro Usb flash driver, the drivers will come up download and install first then plug the usb flash, thats it.
- The simplest way to find out what is causing this problem is: go to My Computer and see whether the computer identifies that there is something in the USB to use. If the computer sees it, then you can right click it to open. If using a newer Operating System such as XP or Vista, the computers usually will show that the drive is inserted and ready to use down by the system clock area. If you have a file you wish to save, then right click the file and choose: Send to.... This is where you have to go to My Computer first, to find out what "letter" the drive has been given, such as drive G. Then you can right click the file and say: Send to....G But if you are using 98 or ME or any other system, then the process may not give you the send to option. Thus you open the My Computer and leave it open to the USB key drive...double click that drive and get it open. It will show that there is nothing on the drive. Then when you find the files you wish to transfer, simply click it and drag it into the open USB drive window and poof it transfers! Sandra
