What is the correct way to remove a USB flash drive from a PS3?

When you remove a USB flash drive from a computer you're suppose to right click the bottom right icon and click safely remove. Is there some method like that for PS3? Or do you just eject the flash drive when its not in use?

1. I think you van go to the main screen and when you go all the way down to see your hard drive or flash stick memory stick. you press triangle and look for an option. thats what i think but if you remove the device right out i dont think it will damage the usb or anything.. hope that helps!
2. Ive tried pressing triangle and there isnt an option to remove. What i do is just pull it out. Doesn't seem to be hurting my files.
3. i just take mine straight out of my pc and ps3 have done since they 1st came out and has done my data no harm
