memory sticks? Can you use 1 x 2gb memory stick along with 2 x 1gb sticks to get 4gb memory or do they have to be 4 x 1gb or 2 x 2gb=4gb?
Can I use different Computer memory sticks together? I just got a new computer desktop, and it had 512 mb of RAM in it to begin with (2x 256mb). I went ahead and ordered some Balistix (2x) 1gb memory sticks. And I have more on the way. My motherboard allows me to use four memory sticks, so I was wondering until the rest of my memory arrives if I can put both the 2 1gb cards in along with the 2 256mb cards?
Why does my Sony laptop noy recognize memory sticks SOMETIMES? Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't. I've done all the obvious things: rebooted, checked memory sticks on another device, reinserted it...etc. There doesn't seem to be a pattern or a reason why it works sometimes and why it doesn't. It has ever worked at one point, and then suddenly stopped working without me doing anything. I'm paranoid that my computer is going to crash, because that is usually what happens when they start doing weird things like this. :-( oops...that was supposed to be NOT recognize!
How to fit memory sticks to handycams? I have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC35 and I am currently unaware of how on earth you use the memory stick in conjunction with the camera. Does anybody know how to?
How do I transfer data between memory sticks? I have a PSP with a 32MB memory stick and I am upgrading to a 1 or 2 GB memory stick. I would like to know how to transfer my game saves from the old one to the new one once I get it. Please help I have been wondering.
Can You Use Other Types Of Memory Sticks With The PSP? I have a working 2gigabyte Memory Stick Pro Duo, but I am wondering if a generic brand would also work. Like, for example, the ones that you see at Wal-Mart for cameras that are only $30 for like 10 gigabytes. After formatting the new memory stick, would it still work for the PSP? Are you only limited to buying the Memory Stick Pro Duos? Thanks so much for your help!
Is it better to buy two memory sticks, or one stick of double capacity? I'm considering a purchase to increase my system's memory, and I was wondering if there would be any benefit to purchasing two 512MB sticks, versus one 1GB stick. I have two available slots (the other two are filled with 256MB sticks). My initial impression is that buying the two smaller sticks would allow more total pins for access, and would thus perform better, but I'm pretty dense with hardware :P.
How do I remove "Write protection" from Memory Sticks? I have 2 memory sticks, one 256Mb the other 2 Gb. The 256 Mb has a slide option for write protect the other doesn't. When I try to delete files on the sticks it tells me that it is "Write protected". I want to force a reformat on them to clear them. HOW?
Can I put two Dual Setup pairs of memory sticks in my computer to get more? Right now I have one set of these memory sticks, CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model VS1GBKIT400 on this motherboard: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard 1) I want 2 GB in my computer, so can I get another set of these and put them in the additional slots and get 2GB? 2) If I can, what is better? Having 4 sticks of 512 or two of 1 GB? If I got two with 1 GB, I would choose these: OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K 3) The price for the new dual 512 sticks is $74 while the new dual 1 gig sticks is $166. I can get both, but I would spend all my money on the latter. Which would you choose?

quality of memory sticks and cards? My husband is thinking of putting our family photos onto either memory sticks or memory cards. We currently use CDs,but have had some problems. My question is,will the sticks/cards keep our photos over long periods of time? Will they degrade in quality? If not which brands are the best. Thanks and GOD-bless The reason he wants to stop using discs of any kind is that our brand new computer only reads part of the pictures on our discs, but will read all of the pictures on the memory card.
Using a flash drive as extra memory. Is it the same as adding actual memory sticks? I saw on a video a simple way to add memory to your XP machine. Using a flash drive, and either use some or all of the flash memory. Is it the same as adding memory sticks, or is it different? I have an 8gb flash drive. How much more memory would i put in my machine, if i were to use that as the extra memory? Would it be 8gb? I don't think my machine could handle more than 2gb if i added memory sticks. Please clarify this. Is it adding memory, or just virtual memory?

Are there any GOOD camcorders that have the option to record DVDs and memory sticks or SD memory cards? This camcorder is for a school. We are creating podcasts for the web and DVDs for distribution throughout the school. Believe it or not, I do not have DVD players on my classroom computers so I have a portable that is shared in the classroom. Hence, we will create DVDs from one shared computer but the students need to edit and upload via usb. Cards are easier than cable connections. I've been eyeing the Sony DCR-HC90 Mini DV (with Memory Stick) and the Sony DCR-DVD403 (with DVD). I'm on a time clock (I have a grant) and I'm not familiar with camcorders. I'm limited to a cost of about 700.
